Clinical/Counseling Interests
I primarily approach from a person-centered therapy and a narrative therapy, which means I trust your potential to grow and I will externalize your issues by separating you from the problem. I am very passionate about helping students cope with cultural identity struggles and career development. I help clients to embrace and find positivity in their cultural identity. I also help clients to find their career potential and interests, facilitating confident career decisions.
Multicultural Interests
I was born and raised in South Korea. I moved to the US in 2022 for my doctoral degree and have lived in Iowa. I deeply empathize with the challenges of cultural identity and career exploration in the US. As a first-generation immigrant and international student/trainee, I am passionate about helping people to navigate their own cultural identity and career development in the US.
Scholarly interests
I am interested in the career development of culturally diverse populations as well as the topics of implicit bias and discrimination towards culturally diverse populations in the workplace.
Professional affiliations
I am a member of American Psychological Association with memberships in Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology) and Division 14 (Society for industrial and Organizational Psychology).
