Sasha Mote
I approach therapy from a person-centered lens with the recognition that everyone brings unique experiences, values, and strengths to the therapeutic process. I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where students can explore their emotions safely, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), my approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and curiosity. My hope is to provide a therapeutic environment where students feel listened to, respected, and empowered to grow at their own pace.
My professional background includes supporting teens and young adults experiencing suicidal ideation in various settings and, most recently, serving as the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate on the University of Iowa campus through DVIP & RVAP.
