My background and education are in clinical psychology with overall training in behavioral health (mental health, substance abuse and community support services). With this, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of behavioral settings to include psychiatric hospital, residential (youth and adults), community mental health, forensic/corrections, public health, and government.

Beside receiving my doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, I am a Human Service Board Certified Professional who is licensed as a mental health counselor in Iowa, and a clinical professional counselor in Illinois. Other areas of professional certification are in mediation skills training and partner abuse intervention (domestic violence).

Alongside a strong clinical background, I have enjoyed an extensive trajectory of leadership training and experience, as well as having a decade and a half in higher education.
