Luis Ybarra Carrillo, B.A.

Biography

I am in my second year in the Ph.D. Counseling Psychology program. I graduated from with my B.A. in Psychology and Kinesiology at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. My research interest are looking into the mental health of injured athletes more specifically how fear of re-injury, confidence, and anxiety symptoms impact one another.

My role as a practicum trainee here at UCS is to provide the best care possible to clients in individual counseling or outreach programs by learning from the licenced psychologist and other staff here at UCS.

I have had experience in working at Four Oaks in their Qualified Residential Treatment (QRTP) working with youth with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. I have also been a lead facilitator in Project HOPE, which we provide career counseling to youth about careers in the health care field.
