I received my master’s degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis inCounselor Education. I am a practicum trainee as well as a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Iowa. I am under the supervision of Dr. Tianyi Xie.
I take an integrative approach of interpersonal therapy and narrative therapy in helping student cope with their life transitions and mental health concerns. My clinical interests include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, trauma, body-image concerns, and interpersonal stress.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals from the LGBTQIA2S+ communities and strive to offer affirmative and liberating therapy that supportsstudents navigate their unique life challenges such as self-acceptance, radical healing, social transitions after coming out, and positive LGBTQIA2S+ identities.
My research interest focus on the psychotherapy process/outcome for LGBTQIA2S+. I enjoy outreaching with the Women's Resource and Action Center and LGBTQ+ Resources.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA)Division 44 (Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity).
