Caitlin Owens, LMSW

Clinical Case Manager

Clinical/Counseling Interests:

I strive to create an environment for students that is relaxed, non-judgmental, and compassionate. I recognize that it can be challenging to reach out for help and try to meet students where they are and help demystify therapy, and communicate in a way that is accessible and understandable. I am very strengths-focused in my work and love helping individuals identify and build upon their inherent strength and resilience. I love working with students and providing thoughtful referrals to therapy and other services in the community based on their individual needs. I am a good problem solver, and enjoy helping students understand their insurance and work out any barriers or apprehensions they may have to connecting with a therapist in the community.

Multicultural Interests:

I am passionate about social justice and work to continually deepen my understanding of my own privileges and identities, as well as the systemic and environmental factors that perpetuate inequality. I have a background in working and advocating with individuals with disabilities, individuals experiencing poverty, and others with barriers to accessing services and supports in the community.

Outreach Interests:

I enjoy getting out and meeting students across campus in their spaces, student organizations, and academic departments. I especially enjoy talking about stress management, community resources, reducing mental health stigma, and transitions.
