Clinical/Counseling Interests:

I work from a cognitive and interpersonal process framework which means we focus on the way you think about your world as a key inroad to making the change you desire.  Additionally, we use our counseling relationship as an indicator of how you are in your world and how we can interpersonally make things better work for you.  Who you are culturally makes such a difference and this too will be part of the work we do.  Counseling is a very exciting, exploratory, and powerfully growthful process.  I look forward to engaging in this healing process with you!

Multicultural Interests:

Who we are strongly governs how we are in the world and must be included in understanding ourselves and others.  I believe there is more that is similar about us than there is different which can serve as an important starting part for engagement while then equally valuing our differences. I have strong interest and commitment to working with our Gay, Lesbian, Bi, and Queer communities.  I am also a Gender Specialist and have worked for many years with our Trans* communities helping students through all points of transition. I have a commitment to equity, dignity, and justice and work daily to help realize these values practically in the work we do and communities in which we live!

Outreach Interests:

Quality leadership, mood and anxiety management, mental health and study abroad, working effectively with students at risk, GLBQ issues and concerns, Transgender/Transqueer/Gender Variant issues and concerns, suicide assessment and prevention, active listening and first responder training, interacting with the media, group therapy and group dynamics, and many many others.  If you need a program, I have a program for you!
