staff development

The University Counseling Service provides continuing education each year for our staff around numerous cultural topics, including:

  • trans identities
  • Chinese international student issues
  • multicultural supervision
  • case management with international students
  • implicit assumptions in multicultural work

 We have encouraged and provided opportunities for professional staff to attend NCBI and Safe Zone trainings and stated an aspiration that all professional staff will have attended a Safe Zone phase I and II training by 2015.  We are working to strategize around ways to ensure our support staff can attend NCBI and Safe Zone trainings as well. The UCS has an ongoing com mitment to providing several continuing education presentations focused on multicultural growth and development every year.
